Champagnes & Wines

With the Blignault family's origin in Monthelon Champagne, we are all passionate about champagne and can easily drink it every day. To get to that we need to sell some at least, which brings us to you. FMS can even brand a prestige cuvée as private label so that you can proudly market your own champagne.

We are equally proud about our South African wine portfolio which consists of the best that South Africa can offer. Not all brands are listed below, so contact us at fmsmarketing@fms-wine-marketing.co.za to discover some hidden gems. Here too you have the option to present these wines, ranging from entry-level to upper premium tier, under your own brand.

CHAMPAGNE BARON-FUENTÉ - Un Esprit... l'Excellence

FMS is importing Champagne BARON-FUENTÉ since January 2014! Well not quite, we're starting with the Champagne stopper, but if you insist - their Champagne is exquisite... Look on www.linkedin.com for a brief overview of the Champagne stopper, also perfectly suitable for Méthode Cap Classique and other sparkling wines. Here is the story of how we got hold of Champagne BARON-FUENTÉ through a great French friend while at ProWein in Germany. Read it and have a good laugh - Wine-Marketing-Services-blog.com/baron-fuente-champagne-stopper.html

Since the 17th century the BARON family cultivated vineyards as grape grower in Champagne. The entire harvest was sold to négociants from Épernay and Reims. In 1966 Gabriel BARON decided to vinify and produce its own bottles of champagne. The first bottles were marketed directly to private customers and local restaurants. The company kept on developing year after year. Today, family BARON owns 38 hectares of vineyards and is settled in the village of Charly-Sur-Marne, on the West side of the Marne valley. The best grapes and champagne are dedicated to make Champagne Jean DE VILLARÉ which is becoming more famous on export markets. FMS markets this brand worldwide.

CHAMPAGNE BERNARD-RÉMY - L'élégance et la finesse

A few miles away from the bustling cities of Reims and Épernay you'll find domaine Bernard RÉMY Champagne. Created 40 years ago by Bernard RÉMY, it definitely has an outstanding character. It's in the heart of the little village of Allemant on the Côte des Blancs where the family patiently transforms their grapes into Champagne. With no less than 11 hectares of vines in the vineyards, the Bernard RÉMY winery offers all 3 Champagne grape varieties and Grand Cru's - all refined Champagnes with subtle, delicate flavours. The sophistication and refinement of the wines highlight the constant quest for perfection of the winery, consistently achieving silver medals. FMS markets this domaine worldwide.

CHAMPAGNE PRÉVOTEAU-PERRIER - élaboré avec passion

Prévoteau-Perrier is the fruit of marriage in 1947 of Henri Prévoteau with Alice Perrier. Their son, Patrice, supported by his wife Claude, developed the House, both at the level of the vineyard and the clientele. At the moment Delphine and Christophe (Boudard-Prévoteau) manage the family domain and immortalize the family tradition in respect of the philosophy of the brand.

The House is situated in Damery, at the heart of Champagne, a few kilometres from Épernay. The family vinifies 30 hectares, of which 22 ha are on the property. This wealth of grapes assures a regular supply of the five cuvées every vintage. According to the assemblage, every vintage rests in the darkness of the cellars for 2 to 5 years to acquire full maturity.

Akkerdal Wine Estate - artisan winery & terroir wines

Akkerdal Estate is nestled between majestic mountains providing fresh air and amazing views. Oak trees and the Berg River create the perfect ambience to produce and taste wine. You can even stay over in the guest house. Owner and wine maker Pieter Hanekom produces a unique range of red wine blends, all receiving 3 to 4-star ratings in Platter's. Creating blends from cultivars originating in France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, each wine has a distinctive sense of place - Franschhoek! Wine of Origin: Franschhoek.

AnnexKloof Wines - A unique terroir cared for through generations

AnnexKloof Wines is a family project, established in 1906. The name has the descriptive meaning of "where the gorges meet". Everything is being done on the farm itself - from vine cutting until the bottle hits the shelf. Hugo Basson, the owner and winemaker, says "I look for something classical, not too heavy and full of fruitiness. The wine has to be well-balanced. If it was in wood, it should complement the fruit." Wine of Origin: Swartland.

Bizoe Wines - Creating the ultimate wine for an unforgettable experience

Derived from the French word "bisou" meaning little kiss, the Bizoe experience offers just that - something as wonderful as that first kiss you just cannot forget.

High quality handcrafted wines are synonymous with Bizoe Wines' philosophy. Small is better reveals the essence of their belief. Only two wines are produced in small quantities, a Sémillon - Sauvignon Blanc blend and a Shiraz. It is made from premium grapes grown in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, creating the ultimate wines for an unforgettable encounter. These handcrafted wines are aimed at the premium market to delight and impress with its delicate bouquet, ideal balance and fruity aromas. Origins: Franschhoek & Stellenbosch.

Cavalli Wine & Stud Farm - Cheval d'Or: A passion for wine, horses & cuisine

The estate produces wine from vines situated in the world-renowned Stellenbosch winelands since 2008. The Helderberg region in particular is known locally as the Golden Triangle of South African wine. Cooled by summer Atlantic Ocean breezes off False Bay, the region enjoys a near-perfect climate and combines with the other terroir elements to develop complexity. The vines lie on the slopes and in the foothills nestled below the Helderberg Mountain and combines the influences of both the mountain and maritime climate. Here is a video with Monica describing Warlord 2009, the flagship 7-varietal red blend that won two gold medals at IWSC and Vinexpo during 2012 and 2013: Cheval d'Or WARLORD Red Blend 2009. Also watch tasting notes of the flagship white blend CREMELLO White Blend 2013.

Eikendal Vineyards - Wine is our Passion

Eikendal is passionately owned by the Saager family from Zürich, with the cellar completed in 1981. It is situated in the "golden wine growing triangle". The vineyards flourish in a mountain and maritime microclimate, ideal for the production of quality wine. Innovative winemaker, Nico Grobler, concentrates on classic varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and the flagship Bordeaux-style Eikendal Classique. Numerous awards and accolades from around the world bear testimony to its fine wine heritage. Wine of Origin: Stellenbosch.

KOELENHOF - unpretentious but generous

Koelenhof Wine Cellar is situated among the vineyard covered slopes 14 kilometres outside of Stellenbosch, and attracts wine lovers from all over the world. South Africa is loved for her generous hospitality and unpretentious spirit. It is our vision to capture this character in every bottle of Koelenhof wine, to be enjoyed again and again. The winery remains humble, despite collecting a string of awards. Recently, Koelenhof received top honours as South Africa's Best Value Cellar Overall in WINE magazine's Best Value Wine Guide.

MONT ROCHELLE HOTEL & MOUNTAIN VINEYARDS - luxurious destination & premier wines

The vineyards are situated 250m to 400m above sea level, giving a wide range of micro climates. The Franschhoek Valley experiences the South-Easter which brings in cooler air, allowing for a longer ripening period, lending a hand to more physiologically ripe fruit. Our 150 year old wine cellar was previously used as a fruit packing shed by the early settlers. Since being converted into a traditional wine cellar we can now process close to 110 tons of grapes each season. These small volumes afford concentration on quality rather than quantity.

New Beginnings Wines - From vineyard workers to vineyard owners

New Beginnings rose to fame when they became the first Black Economic Empowerment company in the wine industry in 1996. It is the first wine farm that belongs to black people in South Africa, producing the first wines made by workers from grapes grown on their own land in 1998. Their association is called Klein Begin and the wines appropriately named New Beginnings.

The New Beginnings brand is market driven and aims for medium to premium level wines while retaining excellent price to quality ratios. Masuda Co. Ltd, our client in Japan, supports New Beginnings since its inception. Look on www.linkedin.com for a brief overview of New Beginnings wines. We're proud to introduce our new Skipper's label. Both blends were firm favourites at the wine tasting launch on 25 August. See all the wine notes on Wine-Marketing-Services-blog.com/new-beginnings-skippers-wines-are-going.html. Appellations: Coastal, Darling, Klein Karoo, Paarl, Stellenbosch and Swartland.
